A Bandon

Over Memorial Day week-end I stayed in the house behind me on the beach.

The first evening we were there--some of us went
to the beach to check it all out.
That is Oren's Dad--beside us, my cousins Mackenzie and Sierra with their Mom--Valinda--behind us, and my Daddy talking to my Grandpa Ed closest to the water.
(Valinda is married to my uncle Steve--my Daddy's step-brother.)

Everybody else went inside but Oren and I stayed out to do more exploring

Oren and I wanted to run into the surf (but our Daddies stopped us.)

There were birds everywhere--very fun to chase.

It was a really pretty beach with lots of cool sea stacks.

For a little while we got to climb on the rocks
(our Daddies stopped us from going higher.)

I just love the beach!
(even if it is cold and windy)

Grider Creek--Mother's Day Hike

For Mother's Day this year my Mommy wanted to go on a hike somewhere she had never been...
so we took highway 96 which follows the Klammath River
(neither Mommy or Daddy had been on it--so I needed a map to help them.)

Mommy and I by Grider Creek.

Here Daddy and I are looking at the creek before we found the trail.

There were a few hills Daddy carried me up.

Through the trees were sporatic views of mountains

We had to cross a little creek flowing into the big creek.
(My mother broke into singing "ford every stream..." as she is wont to do on such occasions.)

Here I am on the trail climbing a hill without any assistance from my Daddy.

We were not far along on the trail when we noticed the ticks on us...
I was very happy that there were no ticks on me...

After my Daddy and Mommy looked for ticks on me, we sat under the bridge and played in the water for awhile.

There were many rocks to throw into the creek.

Mommy also brought us snacks--which we ate on the tick free bridge.

This is one view from the bridge.

Here is another view from the bridge.
It was a very pretty place too bad it harbors ticks...
next time I hope my Mommy remembers our Deep Woods Off.

Spring Photos with O and T

About a month ago Tobin, Oren, and I went to the playground...

We found a soccer ball and started kicking it around...well when we were not picking it up--my Mommy kept saying don't touch it with your hands...

My Mommy found some pretty trees so I posed under them for her.

We all walked under the trees together for more pictures...

Here is the picture of us saying cheese--Tobin doesn't quite have it down yet.

We went off to do some exploring.

Oren and I found some water and sticks to play with together.

We had to leave our sticks and water behind all too soon.

Sterling Ditch Tunnel

This is the beginning of the trail to the ditch tunnel. Daddy made me walk but I wanted to ride on his back.

It took us a long time to climb up to this spot and I was very tired.

Although the trail did not have enough sticks on it -- the view was nice.

It was so nice that we all sat down and enjoyed it.

We found a spot where there was a sign and realized we had not come very far...
Daddy decided he would carry me for awhile.

Look at this big tree. I did not know madrones got this big

We finally made it to the tunnel but it was too dark for us to actually try and climb through it.
(I do not want to question those who call this a tunnel but it was really more like hole in the ground.)

Daddy wanted me to walk some more...I did but I rested a lot too.

See here is proof of me walking...

However, the walking by myself did not last long and Daddy put me on his back again.

My Daddy carried me all the way back down to our car.
I like the views much better from Daddy's back.

Grandpa and Afternoon Watering

This is my Grandpa Ed and I hanging out in Nana and Papa's backyard.

It was too sunny to look at the camera--but aren't the flowers pretty?

I found a teapot and Nana said I could use it to water her plants.

Perfect plant watering form

Sometimes you need to really get a close look at the roots.

This post is proof that I do not always smile...

Playday with the Chams

A few weeks ago my friend's came over to play. My Mommy wanted us to stop for photos.
In the first one someone was missing.
(and in answer to Ranger's question--none of these children's names rhyme with the state.)

In the second attempt we found the missing one but I looked away.
(from left to right--Katie, Stephanie, Me, Gage, Blake, and Miles.)

The last photo shot has almost everyone smiling but it was blurry.
They should come over soon and we can try again.

Historic Haircut

A few weeks ago my Mommy took me to what she called a salon--where Oren's Grandma cut my hair. Everything was fine until she started using the noisy objects--
a hairdryer and an electric razor. I don't think a boy needs his hair dried and the razor can wait until I get facial hair.
