Idaho Bike Trail

I was excited that my Daddy got out my bike trailer in Idaho.

We rode by some beautiful lakes and a river.

I stayed awake for this trip--which means it was really fun.

There were also some lovely meadows and even some cattle grazing.

We stopped for lunch in a shady spot.
(Unfortunately a few mosquitoes were enjoying the spot as well.)

My Grandpa and I tried to talk despite the mosquitoes.

At the end of our ride--we got to a really big lake.
(We also had some excellent ice cream.)

On the Lake

On one of the evenings in Idaho--I took everyone out on a pontoon boat.
My Grandpa Ed helped me a little bit.

We stopped at a shallow spot in the lake
where we did some swimming and exploring.

I tried to show my Grandpa some cool stuff I had found.

Everyone found fun things to do.

Here I am making my way back to the boat.

I wrapped myself up in a towel and soaked up some rays.

It is a very pretty lake.

Here I am with my Daddy on the boat ride home.
(I let someone else drive.)

Posing

There were many attempts to get some pictures of me
with my Idaho cousins.
Pictured above: Cole, cousin Riley, me, Kalie, Cousin Dillon.

Here another attempt at posing:

Lake

In late June Mommy and Daddy took my to Idaho to visit my Grandparents.
We were close to a lake...here I am on the dock the first evening checking out the water.

While there I attempted to tell my Mommy about my desire to throw rocks into the water as well as swim.

The next day I got my swimming wish.
Here I am with cousin Makinzie, cousin Riley,
Kalie and Cole.

My Daddy was trying to teach me the fine art of kicking.

The muddy sand was a very cool part of the lake.

I must say this swimming thing is pretty cool.
(I guess I know why bear swims every time we get her near water.)

Boating

One day in June I got to go on a boat ride with Oren and his Grandparents.

I was holding onto my hat when the boat was moving to keep it on my head.

We stopped for a bite to eat near a shallow part of the lake.

Oren and I spent some time pretending to be in the Coast Guard.
Oren did better without the smiling.

There were telescopes and boat parts to adjust.

There were boat issues to discuss.

I then we tried to get the boat started but we were unsuccessful.

Oren's Granddad Phil let me drive the boat on the way home...
he kept saying things like "left" and "right"--then he would try
to pry my hands away from the steering wheel.

Once we got back to shore it was time to throw some rocks into the water.

We made some pretty impressive splashes.

Oren and I got some pretty good rocks into the water...although we never got into the water--even with the sun it was cold.

Dismal Diamond Lake

When my Mommy put my winter coat on me--I guess I knew it was not going to be the sunny summer camping trip I had envisioned.
(That is not our boat--I do not think it is Penny's boat either...)

The only warm place at our campsite was the car.

There was also a nearby lodge we visited to get warm.
(The toys were not great but the Jenga game can be used as blocks in a pinch.)

We did go on one bike ride in the rain...with my plastic cover I was fine-- but my Mommy and Daddy seemed to think it was a little too wet.

The lake had a fine selection of rocks to throw in the water.

Bear is willing to swim in anything.

My Daddy made great campfires at night--where I got to roast marshmallows.

The campground also was an excellent spot for finding sticks of all sizes.

Finally on the last day we saw what the campground is named for--
Thielsen View
There was even some sun that last day and I was able to walk around in a fleece instead of a rain jacket or my winter coat.
(I should mention that this picture is artificially bright.)

Soda Mountain

On a beautiful Sunday in June--we took a hike up Soda Mountain.

There were pretty views and flowers everywhere.
I had trouble looking at the camera there was so much to see...
(Hopefully there will be more about the flowers in another post.)

On the last part of the trail Daddy put me in my pack and we hiked up a steep road...well it was not that steep for me as I just got to ride along.

It took us some time to climb the last little bit--but once we got to the top there were expansive views of the surrounding mountains and of course more flowers.

We climbed the stairs to the deck surrounding the look out tower
from there we could see for a long way...

I climbed up on the rail and had a nice long look.

We could see Mount Pitt--which still had snow on it.
It is that little white cone in the left side of the picture.

Then looking from another vantage point we could see Mt. Shasta...
It is surrounded by clouds in the middle of the picture.

I need to keep myself well hydrated on these mountain treks.

We then had to make our way down the mountain.
I rode on Daddy's back the whole way.

We had fun.
