Jonathan Showing off Toys and Tongue
Hey everybody, check out my cool toys - especially the creepy yellow duck thing - and my super tongue!
Jonathan Edmund - The Pirate
New skills for the new millennia
I have been quite busy eating of late. Trying to bulk up for my adventures in rolling over. Rolling over is great fun. It's like a tummy and back fiesta. The Satisfiers seem to thing its fun to put my on my tummy. Sure, being on your tummy is fun for a while but you have to do push ups (which I am very good at) to see anything. That neato thing that spins up in the sky is impossible to see. So when the Satisfiers aren't looking, I roll over onto my back. It's really quite the rush. The Satisfiers seem to be so impressed when they come back and see me on my back and make a big deal about. I don't get what the big "whoop" is but, hey, if it makes them happy then usually I get something out of it which makes me happy.
I just recently discovered this neato thing in my mouth. It's soft and round and I can stick it out of my mouth - which, next to eating and rolling over, is a big thrill. Satisfier 2 likes to stick his mouth thing out too and make really goofy faces and noises which, though very immature and childlike, can, at times, be quite humorous. I can't help but smile or laugh which seems to make Satisfier 2 giddy to the point of being ridiculous. At any rate, the Satisfiers seem to really like my mouth thingy sticking out of my mouth so, for them, I stick it out whenever I'm in the mood - especially when there are other unfamiliar big beings around as they seem to have a similar response to the Satisfiers though they don't make the same ridiculous faces or noises.
So, here are the top 10 skills I have been working on since my last post:
- Push ups
- Rolling over
- Smiling
- Sticking my mouth thingy out of my mouth
- Eating
- Screaming as loud as I can to get attention
- Spitting up cream from the all-you-can-eat buffet when I have eaten more than I can handle
- Making deliveries in my pants - lots of deliveries, some smelly
- Making goo, and aaaeei noises
- Sleeping as much as I can when it's dark
Hope you enjoy the pictures of me. Until my next post, aaeeiibu!

Experiments in Communication
I have been very busy trying to communicate with those big beings previously referred to as the "Whaaa". In further analysis I realized that it was rather narrow of me to give this name to the big beings that primarily take care of me. If "whaaa" didn't have so many other meanings then it would, perhaps, be an appropriate fit. For now I will call them by their function which seems to be that of satisfier. From henceforth I will refer to the primary big beings as Satisfier 1 and Satisfier 2.
Satisfier 1 is the one who has the all you can eat buffet with one menu item. Satisfier 2 is kind of weird and has some very primitive communication techniques. This one likes to make funny noises and faces. I think Satisfier 2 is perhaps a bit crazy. But this big being does do things that I like. For instance, he likes to hold me in one hand and fly me around. Sometimes I show my appreciation by sharing some of what I ate at the buffet. When it comes out its kind of creamy, like butter - if I knew what that was. Really it is the best stuff. Satisfier 2 never seems to be very impressed by it and feels the need to always instantly clean me off. He might be kind of a neat freak. Sometimes, just for fun, I fill my pants with a delivery - just to see how Satisfier 2 will react. He usually makes a frowny kind of face and tries to hand me to Satisfier 1 who is not always around so Satisfier 2 must take receipt of my delivery. It's whole bunches of fun. Sometimes, just for kicks, right after Satisfier 2 takes my delivery from my pants and gives me new pants I fill them again right away. I can't tell you how much fun that is. Especially to see Satisfier 2 make his angry displeased face.
I have been working on developing a vocabulary that is more in line with that which the big beings use. They don't seem inclined to use "whaaa" so I have started adopting some of the terms they use in their primitive attempts to communicate with me. Below is some of the vocabulary that I have worked out thus far:
- Ooooohma - I'm awake and am happy but will soon be hungry
- Aaaaahmoov - I've got a present coming that will be arriving soon in my pants and will need to eat some food
- Eeehgrum - Look, I can move my arms and legs independently but expending all that energy makes me hungry
- Aaapuheevmu - This is really more of a phrase. It means "if you don't feed me soon I will have to say 'whaaa' as loud as I can"
- Mmmmhu - Got milk?
- Heeaphu - Pants full, tummy not
I've been working out - building up my arm muscles, doing neck exercises, kicking exercises, etc. Sometimes when a big being tries to hold me in their lap I like to push fast and hard with both my legs to see if I can launch myself off of the lap. Especially if I'm hungry and am not being fed. My goal is to have complete muscle coordination in very short order. Since I have no concept of time I can't say when but rest assured it will be soon.
