Bonus Bear

Grandma Joan gave E. a bear and
Grandpa Marion's camera was available.

The bear was no longer available for this photo.

Kansas Kin

In November while in Kansas--
we went to the zoo with our cousins.

We ran around.

Stared into the eyes of fierce animals.

Posed by trees.

Posed on benches.

E. smiled.

Sadly--the zoo closes early in November...
Lots of the animals were already in bed for the night.

My Mom attempted to get a picture of all the cousins...

Mostly--she just got pictures of the sun
shining in our eyes.

Delayed Departure

One of the reasons Auntie M came to visit was
to escort us back to her house.
The first time we got on the plane
the flight was canceled.
I ended up eating my lunch on the tarmac
until I was told I couldn't do that.

The next morning we got onto a flight at 6:00 a.m.

We were above the fog and
got to watch the sun on the snow capped mountains.

Auntie M was a great travel companion.
She fed Erica and watched me run around
while Mommy got us food and other stuff.

Auntie M brought us to her house where my cousins
came to see us...

Fall Foliage

Since Auntie M came to visit in the fall I took her to see some
fall color.

This is the uppity duck pond.

I think the uppity ducks like me.

We also hiked on the trails around the area.

I played in the leaves...

We posed by famous places....
Overall--what a great day.

Wonder as I Wander

On day two of our Redwood Run with Auntie M...
we encountered rain.

My Mom continued to take pictures of the inside of E's nose...

Auntie M had her camera ready...

We explored new trails.
At some point I decided to keep on a trail with Auntie M
while Mommy, Daddy, and E. said they would meet us at the trail's end.

The trail had some wonderful views of the beautiful Smith river.

This is what we did not know--
the bridge that would take us to where Mommy and Daddy
were waiting for us was a
"summer access only seasonal bridge".

Auntie M decided we should keep going
on another trail.

There were great large trees to keep us company.
Auntie M kept saying we would see Mommy and Daddy any minute.
It was a few miles to the road.

Finally we came to the road that runs through the redwoods.
I had been on many times before...
but no parents on it...
We walked past the old stump...
We walked over that bridge with the weird railing...
Finally after a mile or so...
we saw the van coming for us.

E. well fed in the back was very happy to see us.

We drove by the stump on the way out...
we took a picture to remember that we were safe.

Seeing the Sea

While Auntie M was visiting
we took her to see the sea.
I rock...I mean I posed on this rock...

E. posed on the back of Daddy.

Sweet, isn't she?

We also took walked along a creek by the sea
Auntie M needed some help crossing...

Bear and I enjoying the ocean breeze.

Auntie M. likes to pretend she is on a photo shoot.

However--she did pause to pose with me.

If you look off in the distance you can see the sun shining
on the water.
