A Final Bandon

The final morning I woke up at Bandon the sun was out and the tide was really, really, really, low.

My Daddy and I walked between lots of rocks that we had never even seen because they were usually under water.

There were tide pools and starfish. It was cool.

My Daddy had his camera out and took lots and lots of pictures.

There was a baby seal on the rocks waiting for his Mommy to bring him food...
It was so cute--it looked like a puppy.

I found a starfish!
It was time to head home.

A Bandon Group

The reason I got to spend so much of my time in Bandon on the beach
was this group. These are some people my Mommy
spent 2 years in Africa with a long time ago.
In the back:Laurel (RPCV) Lara (RPCV), Becky, Pauline (RPCV),
Greta (RPCV), Liza, Mommy (RPCV), Daddy
In the front: Keith(RPCV), Chad, Richard (RPCV), Jeffery (RPCV),
Todd (RPCV), Ted (RPCV), Kevin.
I am not pictured--sad isn't it?

I was not always on the beach in Bandon.
My cousin Sierra and I got to sit in Grandpa Ed's lap.

Here I am with my Grandma Sybil--don't you like how you can see up my nose.

My Mommy insisted we take a group photo.

In the front: Aunt Valinda, Cousin Mackenzie, Cousin Sierra, Me, Mommy

Sunny a Bandon

Finally a sunny day on the beach.
(It might have been a little more windy than I would have liked.)

Oren and I had to face the wind--
there was a lot of sand to move.

It might seem to the casual observer that we were just driving
our trucks in circles but there is always a plan...

You will notice we had an audience...
Oren's Dad and Mom, Oren's Grandma, Mackenzie and my Daddy.

Eventually I realized I needed to relocate.

There was so much more of the beach to explore--we moved onto other activities.

We decided to change equipment--
we made really good use of the shovels moving even more sand.

No matter how windy,
a sunny beach is always a fun place to be--especially with friends.

Another Morning a Bandon

Here I am with Daddy on the beach in the morning.

My cousin Makinzie came along as well.

Makinzie likes to hug me.

She also expects me to look at the camera...

My Daddy also expected me to flash a smile at the camera.

On this morning we found new sand dunes to climb.

We also found caves to explore.

I loved the caves...

After we got back from exploring I shared my blanket with Makinzie while we watched a movie.

Morning a Bandon with Sierra

I love waking up at the beach...

One of the fun things in the morning at the beach was the low tide...

One of the other neat things was having people to enjoy the low tide with me.
This morning I was following my cousin Sierra around.

We collected sand that was wet.
(I think she was trying to build something with it.)

I tried to assist by pointing out the neat rocks I kept finding--but she did not seem to be interested in my neat rocks.

I finally got out my dump truck to be of some use...
I think it made all the difference.

Cape Argo

Align Center
We took a side trip to a place called Cape Argo--it was so beautiful I could not stop crying.

Here is a view of the beautiful sea stacks and surf.

We started hiking together...
Pictured: Phil--Oren's Grandpa, Oren, Shawn--Oren's Daddy, Aunt Valinda, Cousin Mackenzie, Val, Cousin Sierra, Great Aunt Cass, Grandpa Ed and my Mommy.

The sun made an appearance when we walked out to these cliffs.

Here the cliffs looking the other way...

Daddy and I went climbing on the cliffs.

There were great big puddles of water to play in.

Me exploring the cliffs (where were my parents--do I look like I am in danger?)

The cliff exploring was pretty cool.

Here I am with Daddy and my Grandpa further down the trail.
(Because of our cliff exploration--we got separated from the rest of the group.)

Once we got to the end of the trail Oren and I got into our car seats
and were ready to head back to Bandon.
What a fun day!

A Bandon

Over Memorial Day week-end I stayed in the house behind me on the beach.

The first evening we were there--some of us went
to the beach to check it all out.
That is Oren's Dad--beside us, my cousins Mackenzie and Sierra with their Mom--Valinda--behind us, and my Daddy talking to my Grandpa Ed closest to the water.
(Valinda is married to my uncle Steve--my Daddy's step-brother.)

Everybody else went inside but Oren and I stayed out to do more exploring

Oren and I wanted to run into the surf (but our Daddies stopped us.)

There were birds everywhere--very fun to chase.

It was a really pretty beach with lots of cool sea stacks.

For a little while we got to climb on the rocks
(our Daddies stopped us from going higher.)

I just love the beach!
(even if it is cold and windy)
